Aguilar (1976). Spanish designer from Madrid. Her family (her father is a jazz musician, her mother a poet and painter) had a great influence on her artistic education. She began her study of design at the Escuela Superior de Técnica Industriales de la Confecciòn in Madrid. In 1995 she won a competition for young designers and shortly thereafter began to learn her trade in the most important Spanish ateliers, working with Devota y Lomba, Laura Montero and Paco Casado. As a freelancer, she designed various clothing Collections including a children’s line for the department store El Corte Inglès. At the same time she worked as an illustrator for magazines and newspapers such as Mia, El Mundo, Epoca and El Diario de Barcelona. In 1998 she created her own brand, named after herself, and presented her first prêt-à-porter Collection in Madrid for the Spring-Summer season in 1999. By the time of her third Collection she began to exporting her merchandise and also opened a flagship store in Madrid.
