ADUT AKECH BIOR, SUDANESE MODEL

She’s a Sudanese model described as the synthesis between Grace Jones‘ grit and charisma and Naomi Campbell‘s elegance. Adut Akech Bior was born in the outskirts of South Sudan on the 25th of December 1999. An ancestral beauty with a penetrating gaze and a diastema characterize one of the most promising and demanded faces of 21st century fashion.

She spent the first eight years of her life in a refugee camp in Kenya, then she moved to Australia. She arrived in Australia taking on a different name: she called herself Mary because, as she stated, her teachers didn’t know how to pronounce her name. During her adolescence, she said she was bullied by her peers because of her physical appearance: an issue for which she suffered a lot but that over time she learned to ignore. At the age of fifteen, she was discovered for the first time by a scouting agency, Chadwick Models, with which she signed her first modeling contract.
