VANDERPERRE WILLY IS A FASHION PHOTOGRAPHER AND DIRECTOR, BORN IN BELGIUM IN 1971
Willy Vanderperre began studying fashion at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, and then changed his studies leaving design for photography. At the Academy, Vanderpierre meets designer Raf Simons , stylist Olivier Rizzo and beauty expert Peter Philips, who will collaborate on several projects. The knowledge learned from his studies on fashion are useful for his photographic compositions. For Raf Simons, the photographer realizes the FW2020 campaign.
The photographer collaborates with leading independent fashion magazines, including iD Magazine , Love Magazine, AnOther Magazine and AnOther Man, W Magazine . The collaborations also extend to Condé Nast, for which he works with Vogue Hommes International and Vogue Magazine.

BEYOND FASHION, INTEREST IN SOCIAL MEDIA, AND FILM WORK
Significantly in his latest works, Vanderperre has focused on other themes besides fashion. Uniquely, in particular on the effects of social media on photography, the concept of instantaneity, and on new cinematic narratives in dance-theater. In 2012, the photographer spends time with Jan Fabre’s theater company, whose work he documents The Power of Theatrical Madness and reports it in the book published in 2014 The Power of Theatrical Madness II .
In 2015 he published 635 , a book depicting the photographer’s Instagram posts from the start of his account to the release of the book. This is followed by the publication of 865 , a collection of posts published after the first volume and 485 , a collection of fan art. The following year, his film Naked Heartland debuted at the ICA (Instute of Contemporary Arts) in London. This is followed by the book of the same name which collects some shots of his cinematographic work. The book highlights some aspects very dear to Vanderperre’s work, young people, loneliness and the power of redemption inherent in pop culture.
In 2018, the photographer opens his first photography exhibition in London. Willy Vanderperre is part of the BoF500 .
