Wien Historisches Museum

The clothing collection of this Viennese museum was begun after the Second World War at the behest of Alfred Kunz, director of the fashion school of Hetzendorf. Twenty thousand outfits and accessories, for men, women, and children. The W.F. Adlmuller, Gertrude Hochsman and Adele List collections formed the foundations of the textiles and apparel sectors. The library has about 12,000 volumes. There are also fashion journals, dating back to 1786 and to the present day, photographs, and 3,000 fashion prints from the mid-nineteenth century to the late-twentieth century.
