Vanity Case

More commonly known as a beauty case. A travel bag that contains toiletry items. Such an object has existed since the nineteenth century, when it was very voluminous, with internal compartments that contained crystal and silver bottles, brushes and combs, manicure utensils, also in such valuable materials as ivory, tortoise shell, and silver. The exterior was in leather, skin, or parchment, but there were other more luxurious versions, such as those made by Van Cleef & Arpels in the 1930s, in gold, laquer, and enamels, genuine pieces of traveling jewelry.
