Tuxedo

Tuxedo (or dinner jacket) A form of men’s eveningwear, and the most elegant formal clothing in a man’s wardrobe. Also worn on formal occasions, the tux exists today in a multitude of different cuts, colors and fabrics, which often border on bad taste. The most classic version is in light black cloth and comprises straight-legged pants with a satin strip down the side, a single-breasted jacket with one or two buttons and satin lapels, a white shirt with a shirt front and cufflinks, a bow tie, a cummerbund and black patent shoes. It was first worn in the casinos of Montecarlo in 1880 and immediately became the modern alternative to the white tie.
