Trench Coat

The trench coat is used in many other languages, Italian especially, in its shortened version, il trench: a light, waterproof double-breasted overcoat with raglan sleeves and a belt. Once again, an item with a sinister history created to protect soldiers against rain and cold during the Second World War and later reinterpreted by Burberry. It became a cult object after protecting from bad weather and the fists of gangsters and other lowlifes the strong shoulders of investigators played by Humphrey Bogart.
