Steel

Lawrence (1963). American designer working in Milan. He began designing in a minimalist vein but then focused on a simplicity that aims to inspire sensuality. He designs for a decidedly sexy, but never vulgar, woman because his philosophy is to play with the simplicity of garments, crafting them by using cuts that hug the body, and fabrics that glide over curves and natural colors. Steel was born in Hampton, Virginia, and graduated from the Art Institute of Chicago in 1985. From 1985 until 1990 he worked as a designer for Moschino in Milan and between 1990 and 1993, he was on the staff of Prada working on their women’s ready-to-wear line. In 1994, the firm Casor di Bologna signed to manufacture his label.
