Sonia

Russian model. The elegance of her movements and the grace of her appearance helped her become Vionnet’s favorite model in the 1930s. Her poses for the photographer Hoyningen-Huene are part of Vogue‘s great history. When Vionnet retired in 1939, Sonia, who in the meantime had married the French couturier Charles Montaigne, also retired from photographic shoots and fashion shows.
