Pinto

The Achille Pinto Tessitura Serica (silk mill) was founded when the Casnate (Como) factory that had hitherto been working for third parties, started producing its own “smooth and damask, patterned and original cloth.” In the second half of the 1950s the company name changed to Tessitura Tintoria Stamperia Achille Pinto Foulard Sciarpe Cravatte (Achille Pinto mill, dye and printing works for foulard, scarves, and ties). Achille’s children joined the company’s management in 1963 and the business became a limited company, increasing its production capacity and investments. In the mid-1970s the company received some Japanese capital. From 1988 to 1992 the business was run by Achille’s son-in-law, Matteo Uliassi, and his family still manages the company today.
