Pignatelli

Carlo (1944). Italian designer. Born in Brindisi, but made Turin his home. He is best known for his bridal and occasion wear. He opened his first atelier in 1970, working for private clients. He held his first runway shows in 1980. He first showed at the Milano Collezioni in 1993 and in 1995 he was made official designer for Juventus football club and the Italian Football Federation.
&Quad;2002, September. Carlo Pignatelli Donna is present, along with other Italian labels, at the New York Fashion Coterie, the most important East Coast fashion event.
&Quad;2002. The year ends on an up, with over 70,000 garments sold and an increase in turnover of 15 percent from the previous year. The Carlo Pignatelli Ceremonia does particularly well, bringing in 70 percent of the total annual sales. Export sales are also up on 2001, representing 30 percent of the total income.
&Quad;2003, March. Announcement of a 5 year deal with the Marly’s group in Vicenza to produce and distribute the women’s ready-to-wear collection.
