PellicceModa

Specialized Italian magazine that covers mainly furs and fashion. It was founded by Enzo Lancellotti and his daughter-in-law Anna Maria Sapelli Lancellotti, who became its editor following the death of Enzo, and who continued working on the magazine with her husband Alberto for another thirty years. In 1990 it became part of the Motta Publishing Group, and after a brief period under the direction of Francesca Scopelliti from 1994-5, it was put under the charge of Cristina Navarrete Motta. To the already existing seven annual bilingual Italian-English issues and the exclusively Italian issue aimed at the general public during the fall fur sales season, she added a Chinese edition in 1998 and a Russian edition in 2001. Special editions (in Italian, English, Spanish, Russian, and Chinese) covering important international events are published under the magazine’s title, and they also publish the PelliceModa In Shop annual guide, which gives an up-to-date overview of the world’s fur companies. The guide can be found at all ready-to-wear fashion fairs and is a valuable tool for those working in the sector. Over its long history, PellicceModa has reported on the latest styles with previews and articles using the best illustrators (like Brunetta Mateldi) and photographers, often discovering and then showcasing their talents.
