Paper Denim & Cloth

Limited edition jeans. This was the brainchild, in November 1999, of Scott Morrison, a New York designer and manufacturer whose creations are now on sale in the biggest American department stores. Jeans, jackets, and T-“shirts made from specially selected denims and cotton jersey that come directly from American, Italian, and Japanese manufacturers. Each hand-finished pair of jeans is labeled with its own number, starting from zero at the beginning of each season. There is a different label design for each batch of 50,000 jeans. The reinforced waistband of the women’s styles and the flat stitching with frayed edges are details that have been kept from the original design. To honor the entrepreneur Richard Gilbert, who supported the project from the beginning, Morrison decided to create the “2rsgxx” style: the cut of the jeans was achieved by copying the silhouette of a model dressed as a cowboy. On the label’s orders, only 12 pairs were produced each week to be sold in 16 shops around the world.
