Own

Label founded in Brussels by Thierry Rondenet (1965) and Hervé Yvrenogeau (1966), to develop fashion, home furnishing, and graphic design projects. They both took diplomas in screen printing and the printed image at La Chambre in Brussels. In January 1999 they presented their first men’s collection, called Winner Takes All. It included pyjamas worn under a biker jacket, and nylon dressing gowns worn as raincoats. Later that year in July they showed a men’s themed collection in Paris and Tokyo with DIY decorated jeans and T-“shirts. Their speciality is the layering of different pieces. Each season, Own acts as a patron to young designers and provides a showcase for their creations, starting with Sandrine Rombaux and Pascal Gautrand.”
