Olimpias

Italian textile group, based in Grumolo delle Abbadesse, near Vicenza. Founded in the 1980s, Olimpias brought together a group of textile manufacturers and related companies (yarns, fabrics, dyeing, and finishing) with the aim of offering a complete range of services in the textile field. This holding company, under the presidency of Armando Boccaletti, is linked to the Benetton Group and has consolidated annual sales of 600 billion lire, with an annual production of 20 million kg of yarn (cotton and wool) and 60 million meters of fabric (cotton, wool, and blends). The main affiliates of the group are: for yarns Galli Filati (carded wool and blends), Filma (combed wool and blends) and Goriziana (superior quality cotton); for fabrics Lanificio Follina (specialized in wool, polyester, traditional and modern blends), Tessuti Pordenone (cotton and stretch fabrics for casual wear) and Piobesi (cotton jersey and stretch fabrics for fashion and sportswear); for finishing processes Tex-control (labelling and processing), Stefani (dyeing), Maglificio Fontane (knitwear), Tiesse (preparation, dyeing and finishing of fabrics with avantgarde techniques), Essegigi (printing and finishing) and Color Service (dosage and mixture of fabric dyes, using high-precision software). In the short term the group aims to increase its potential by further expanding in foreign markets, given that 50% of its production is currently for Benetton.

&Quad;In 2003, the Olimpias group, comprising 12 affiliate firms with about 2,000 employees, increased its presence at fashion fairs and events, attending Moda In in Milan, Pitti Immagine Filati, and Mod Amont in France.
