National Museum of Ireland

Dublin, Ireland. The museum owns a collection of clothing, covering local production from the 18th to the end of the 20th century as well as a collection of locally made textiles, ranging from archaeological finds dating from 750 BC to contemporary fabrics. Weaving is represented in all its variants, from Coptic linens to nineteenth century industrial silks. It also possesses an important collection of Irish and European lace and embroidery from the 15th century onwards.
