Mirabella

American fashion magazine, defining itself as “an antidote to trends,” founded in 1989 by Grace Mirabella and published by the Hachette Filipacchi group. Born in 1930, the journalist Grace Mirabella began her career at Vogue with Diana Vreeland. In 1971, when the legendary Vreeland left the Condé Nast monthly, she took over the helm for the following 17 years. During this period she improved distribution figures, making the magazine less scholarly and cerebral and directing it towards the needs and problems of women of the time. In publishing, Mirabella is the only example of a director whose name has become a magazine title.
