Miglionico

Michele (1965). Designer, born in Milan. He opened an atelier in Potenza in 1989. He considers himself self-taught, even though he learnt a great deal from his father, a tailor at Caraceni in Milan. He debuted outside the official calendar of haute couture runway shows in Rome in January 2000. His fashion is inspired by Courrèges and early Yves Saint Laurent. His favorite textiles include crêpe doublé, georgette and mousseline.
&Quad;2002, November. After years of showing on the Rome runways, Michele Miglionico decided to open an atelier in Via Veneto in Rome.
&Quad;2003, July. On the AltaRomaAltamoda runway, he paid homage to Diana Vreeland, the director of Vogue America, watched by her son, Frederick Vreeland, and his wife, Vanessa. The designer created seventeen gowns, in red and black, as well as prune, green and pearl gray. His full, red ball-gown was made using more than 22 meters of hand embroidered silk gazar.
