Pat (1966). English make-up artist, famous for unusual make-up and her very personal use of color to emphasize different facial features. She is considered one of the leading make-up artists at an international level. Beauty editor of the magazine i-D, she often collaborates with the hairdresser Eugene Souleiman, for important designers, such as Prada and Dolce & Gabbana, and for photo shoots as well as backstage at runway shows. In 1999 a contract was announced with Giorgio Armani to create a line of make-up. With hindsight, this ensured an impressive launch for the company’s cosmetics sector. For Spring 2003 at John Galliano, McGrath’s make-up was inspired by Indian culture. Recurring colors were cobalt blue and marigold yellow. Her make-up for Galliano’s Christian Dior collection has a very different tone, making use of kabuki colors: whites, blues and pinks.
