Lutz

German designer. He came to the notice of the business operators after posing in 1992 for a reportage on sexuality by Wolfgang Tillman for i-D. He moved to London where he studied at Central Saint Martin’s and graduated in 1995. After a three-year period at the atelier of Martin Margiela in Paris, he returned to London to teach at Saint Martin’s. In 2000 he created his own griffe, which was first presented in Paris during prêt-à-porter week. He takes vintage clothes, disassembles them, cuts them anew and assembles them again in new shapes.
&Quad;2004, November. During the Gwand Swiss Textiles Award Festival he was awarded the Ackermann Prêt-à-porter Prize.
