Lubiam

Italian menswear company. “Service is a strategy” is the motto of this company established in Mantua in 1911 by Luigi Bianchi. The company focuses on the combination of craftsmen’s skills with the benefits of industrial production, to make high-quality suits available to a wider public. The construction of a tailor-made suit is part of the tradition of Italian fashion: it is part of the culture of perfect wearability. Today, research and constant innovation enable Lubiam to reduce the number of production processes. Programmed production gives constant and uniform quality in each of the 120 working steps, using wools with particular twisting and finishing, linen with silk, and light but very bright cottons. There are four lines: classic and formal, the tailor-made line, the soft line, and the new line. The company is directed by Giuliano Bianchi. In 1998 it had a turnover of 52 million dollars. It exports about 35% of its products to the USA, Great Britain, Benelux, and Scandinavia.
&Quad;2001. Registered turnover 40 million euros, a steady value compared to the previous year. The company had 700 workers, 450 in Mantua and 250 in Tunisia.
&Quad;2002, January. Début of Eddy & Bros, a new line for a market aged 25-35. The launch was in three steps: Italy first, then the rest of Europe, and last the USA, where Lubiam has had a showroom in New York since 1968. The American market represents 40% of foreign turnover.
