Lindberg

Peter (1944). German photographer. After studying painting in Berlin and in Krefeld, he started working as a window dresser in Duisburg, then became an assistant photographer to Hans Lux and, finally, in 1971, he opened his own advertising photography studio in Düsseldorf. In 1978 he moved to Paris, where he still lives and works, and where he began to work in the field of fashion photography for Stern. During the 1980s he made his name being published in Interview, Marie Claire, and in the American, English, French and Italian editions of Vogue, before passing definitively, in 1992, to Harper’s Bazaar. His campaigns for Armani, Prada, Jil Sander, Lagerfeld, Calvin Klein, Donna Karan, and Mizhari are famed, and in particular others for perfumes: Trésor by LancÂme, Giò by Armani, and Eternity by Klein. In 1992 he directed the documentary Models, a film starring Linda Evangelista, Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell, Tatjana Patiz and Stephanie Seymour. In 1996 he did the Pirelli Calendar. His style, characterized by an engrossing black-and-white, uses expressionist atmospheres to create images suffused by a dreamlike subtlety.
