Walde (1923). German photographer. She attended the State School of Applied Arts in Weimar where she became interested in photography. This interest was concreted when she started to work at Agfa. After which she became a portrait photographer. In 1953 she opened a photography studio for fashion and advertising in her hometown. She collaborated with the Frankfurter Illustrierte Zeitung, a magazine to which she remains faithful. She refused a contract proposed to her by Vogue, joining the fashion photography circuit, particularly in Florence and Paris. Her pictures are characterized by open air backgrounds and a balanced relationship with architecture. Since 1986, she closed her studio and devoted herself essentially to personal research.
