Roger (1952). British photographer. He graduated in land management, and then studied documentary photography at Newport College of Art. After working as a freelance photo-reporter, he was hired by The Observer in 1982. He traveled around the world — from India to Sudan, from Sri Lanka to Bangladesh — documenting crisis and war. His most renowned works became traveling exhibitions with accompanying books: Bosnia (1994), Ataturk Children (1997) About Kurds, Berlin (1999), and Thatcher Years (1999), a severe analysis on the England of Margaret Thatcher’s government. Since 1990 he has been the official photographer for London Fashion Week. In 2001 he created Armani Backstage, an important reportage of backstage at the opening of the Armani Theater in Milan and published in a volume. He works for newspapers such as the Independent, Stern, Der Spiegel, The Sunday Times, alternating with photo-reportages for fashion sessions.
