HANNOH WESSEL (1965): GERMAN FASHION DESIGNER
THE LIFE AND STUDIES OF HANNOH WESSEL
Hannoh Wessel is a German fashion designer. Studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Berlin. The Chambre Syndicale de la Couture in Paris, after a two-year internship at the haute couture fashion house Lecoanet-Hemant, graduated him as a women’s cutter.
EARLY SUCCESSES
In 1993, he designed his first women’s ready-to-wear collection. He conquered the limelight at department stores such as Printemps and Henry Bendel. Since 1997, he has been on the official Paris fashion show calendar. He was often inspired by military uniforms.
PARISIAN APPRECIATION
In 2002, he won the competition reserved for young talents at the Espace Créateurs of the Forum des Halles in Paris. The German designer’s particular technique of decomposition and recomposition of traditional and artisanal lines won over the jury.
INTERNATIONAL DISTRIBUTION
Wessel’s new line is called H+ and was previewed at the Paris ready-to-wear show in January 2003. The Hannoh collections are now distributed worldwide through a network of 35 points of sale in Kuwait, Japan, Italy, the United States and Taiwan.
