Freud

Bella (1961). English designer, born in London. She is the great granddaughter of Sigmund Freud. She studied in Italy and did an apprenticeship at Caraceni. She discovered fashion through Vivienne Westwood. She made her début in 1990 designing her first collection. In 1993 she presented her clothes at the London Fashion Week. In her collections she is inspired by England and its past. She says, in fact: “You can take a Victorian silhouette and play with its forms without hiding its origins, making it sexy.” Her style is elegantly eccentric and simple. She defines her creations as a “luxurious irreverence.”
Balmain, after its separation from the designer Gilles Dufour, would like to entrust her with the women’s prêt-à-porter line and the supervision of the knitwear line.
