Fissore Cristiano

(1950). Italian designer of knitwear. Born in Rapallo, he began to work in his family’s clothing stores at a young age. In 1977, he established his own company, called Cristiano Fissore, which manufactured cashmere sweaters in classic designs and refined colors. Their company’s headquarters is in an 18th century villa which overlooks the Rapallo harbor.
The Fissore women’s collection has always been designed by Lucia Bosisio, who creates cashmere garments with very precise details, sometimes precious, through continuous research on new and unusual threads.
The birth of the Maison collection, which is presented once a year at Maison et Objet in Paris. Every collection is characterized by a single color, developed in numerous shades and tones. Entirely handmade, either knitted or crocheted, it is made even more precious through stitching, embroidery, and decorations which, combined with unusual colors, result in modern garments that have an antique flavor.
The men’s collection undergoes a big change, from a classic collection to a new one in which research is the main feature, with unusual treatments, washings, and blends. The collection, directly coordinated by Cristiano Fissore, is immediately joined by the new Cristiano Fissore Genoa. More casual, it is completed with garments in different fabrics and in leather, such as buffalo skin and shearling. Inspired by the sea, in the beginning it is only in blue. Later it is enriched with new colors, inspired by hunting, fishing, and other elite sports.
