Filatura and Tessitura di Tollegno

Spinning and weaving mill established around 1900 on the initiative of some families in Biella. It boasts 100 years of being in business. The brand name Lana Gatto goes back to 1908. A new plant was built near Turin in 1910. It was moved to Tollegno in 1925. The number of employees reached 1,700, and increased to almost 2,500 after the acquisition of Lanificio Agostinetti and Ferrua. The important historic heritage of the company through the years is an important part of its identity, in which tradition and hyper-technology live together. Next to the old weaving room with its stone columns is a 150,000 square foot shed with more than 120 ultra-modern looms. The group’s production includes yarns for knit outerwear, sewing threads, and weaving. To underline the company’s international character, the Italian plants are accompanied by operations in other countries: a spinning mill in Poland, a commercial headquarters in Hong Kong, and the branch office Tollegno 1900 USA Inc. in New York.
