Extè

Brand belonging to Ittierre of Isernia (from the Latin ex tempore). It was created “to experiment with trends, fabrics, and atmospheres.” The first presentation, in January 1996, organized by a group led by Giancarlo Perna, was already set in a Blade Runner atmosphere in the former industrial area of the Bovisa gas tank on the outskirts of Milan. It featured knitwear combined with rubber, Lycra, and metal plates, carbon fibers, smearing, unpredictable finishings, and unexpected transparencies. In the collections that followed, this technologic research was refined using noble yarns such as cashmere contaminated by a thin steel thread which ” adjusts perfectly, though, to bring back softness and sweetness.” In Spring 1999, the brand offered garments in high-tech thread made from copper and steel, in order to fight stress, and clothes that sparkled, lit by strobe lights as in a disco. The Extè brand isn’t limited to fashion, but also includes a home collection and accessories. The brand is present in these areas in some of the most important cities in Europe, Asia, and the U.S. In Italy, there are three single-brand boutiques, in Milan, Rome, and Capri.
Antonio Berardi, already responsible for the women’s collection, is appointed design director of Extè Uomo.
Francesco Lampronti is the new general director of the griffe. With a degree in economics, he has had important positions at Calvin Klein and Emanuel Ungaro. Vincenzo Scognamiglio is the new brand manager.
Extè promotes the Well-tech philosophy with a showroom exhibit of innovative products that combine high technology and design. These products show the need for a balance between style, harmony, well-being, and technology.
The creative direction of the women’s collection is put in the hands of Alessandro De Benedetti, a designer from Genoa. With this, the current designer, Sergio Ciucci, will devote himself exclusively to the men’s collections.
