Joe. English illustrator and costume designer. During the 1950s, her drawings in the Herald Tribune accompanied articles by Eugénia Sheppard, a pseudonymous byline covering fashion. Later, she worked with the journalist Ernestine Carter of the Sunday Times. She also worked with Life, Vogue, and Harper’s Bazaar. In the late 1960s, she worked for the New York City Ballet as a costume and set designer. She also worked with Diana Vreeland on exhibits dedicated to fashion at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
