De Benedetti
Alessandro (1970). Designer, born in Genoa. He attended the Marangoni Institute of Milan, and then began to work for Italian and foreign designers. This was his apprenticeship. In 1990, he collaborated with Saverio Patella on his knitwear Collections. In 1992, abandoning the traditional path of fashion, he moved to Australia, where he designed the George Cross Sportswear Collections. Back in Italy in 1994, he designed for Martino Midali. In 1995, he worked for Thierry Mugler in Paris, participating in the organization of the maison‘s 20th anniversary. Since 1997, he has designed his own Collection, offering woman’s prêt-à-porter characterized by a strong concept and a tailored cut. He still continues his collaboration with Saverio Patella and Thierry Mugler.
He is appointed creative director of the women’s Collections of the Exté brand by It Holding.
The Gentex group, specialized in the textile-clothing field, acquires 51% of the brand.
The designer decides to launch a second line in a joint venture with Gentex. The début is expected for September.
