Charvet

Historic shirt shop in Paris. In 1838 Cristophe Charvet opened a shop on Rue de Richelieu where he took measurements and offered fabrics. Shirts were cut and sewn in the back. It was the first shop of its kind. His shirts were known for their high quality of fabric, care in manufacture, and the elegance of the finished product. An official supplier to the Jockey Club, in more than 150 years of existence Charvet has served famous people such as Zola, Eiffel, Edward VII, Offenbach, the Duke of Windsor, De Gaulle, and Kennedy. Since 1965 Charvet has also manufacture shirts for prêt-à-porter. His display windows today at no. 28 Rue de Castiglione.
