Charabia Paris

Brand of manufacturing and design. Drawing on her experience at Lanvin and Chantal Thomass, toward the end of 1992 Lena Barenton opened a maison which began to specialize in a children’s line up to 18 months: clothing, bathing accessories, and furnishings. She immediately distinguished herself for a synthesis of practicality and elegance, and for innovative fabrics. Hers was the first company to adopt the color ecru for children’s wear, which was then imitated by other big names in children’s clothing. The positive reaction of the market prompted Barenton to expand her offers up to 6 years, with the Winter 1996 Collection, and up to 8 years with the Summer 1997 Collection. In August 1999 she opened her first boutique on Rue Madame in Paris, where Chantal Thomass had been located. Today she designs a line for newborns as well as 12-year-olds, using ecological fabrics that are in some cases recycled or recyclable. Charabia produces and distributes the brand Baratin.
