Chantilly

Chantilly is a very light silk lace (just like Chantilly cream), manufactured on a bobbin, usually in black silk with flowered garland patterns. Very precious, it was first manufactured in the town of Chantilly, north of Paris, in the first half of the 1700s. In its traditional crème color it is also called blonde. It was very much in fashion throughout the entire 1800s, especially for shawls and parasols. This type of lace has been back in fashion many times.
