Centro di Firenze per la Moda Italiana

(Florence Center for Italian Fashion). A public-private, non-profit association which since 1954 has promoted, in Italy and abroad, a series of commercial, cultural, communication, and educational activities in support of Italian fashion. It is the holding company of Pitti Immagine and Ente Moda Italia, operating companies to which the Center gives guidelines for trade shows and promotional efforts, in coordination with the needs of the various business associations of Italian textile and clothing companies and of the local political and economic government institutions which are the Center’s shareholders. It has carried out important initiatives in the field of research and in the culture of fashion, often in collaboration with prestigious museums and international cultural institutes. Among the most recent of these was the Biennial of Florence, of which the Center was the principal sponsor.
