Carioca Maglierie

Carioca Maglierie is a knitwear and casualwear clothing company. It manufactures on the authorization of the High Chiefs of Staff of the Italian Air Force and the Navy, in addition to the General Command of the Guardia di Finanza. The company’s lines are called Air Force, Navy Riflemen, and The Guard. Their shape, lines and design are obviously inspired by military style, with original elements as well. The company, established in 1975 by Sauro Mazzola, has been characterized for many years by the general production of casualwear and leisure clothing. In the wake of the success of the Richard Gere film An Officer and A Gentleman, the first attempt to give the brand a stronger identity was made with the creation of the Sea Army line: jackets, sweaters, and trousers to be worn whether sailing or in town. The brand was sold to another company in Carpi, but Carioca enlarged its production to include new lines inspired by the military.
