Brooks

Donald Brooks (1928) was a New York designer and costume maker. He was among the first during the 1960s to propose the fashion of pajamas and evening trousers. To him is due, among other things, credit for the relaunch of the blouse. After his studies in English literature at the School of Fine Arts at Syracuse University between 1947 and ’49, he attended the Parson’s School of Design. His work in theater and cinema is characterized by the creation of costumes for the Broadway comedy Barefoot in the Park (1962) and for the movies The Cardinal (1963) and Fireball Jungle (1968).
