Boulanger

Louise (1878-1950). French dressmaker. She opened her atelier in Paris in 1927. She became famous for modifying the styles that were popular at the time, which were straight and short as the fashion à la garµonne required, and making them fuller by draping the hips. In 1929 she designed the costumes of Brigitte Helm for the movie L’Argent by Marcel L’Herbier, to which she would look for inspiration for a following Collection. By now, her creations belong to the history of costume. In 1998, on the occasion of the 14th edition of the Market Exhibition of Antiques, a kimono of hers that was made in Paris in 1925 was put on sale for 12 million liras.
