Bellotti

Fabio Bellotti (1938) was an italian textile entrepreneur. He learned the trade in the workshop of his uncle, who manufactured scarves — and who became his guardian at the death of his father, who was an architect. After his studies, he worked for Falconetto, Ken Scott and Mantero. At the end of the 1970s he began his personal adventure in the world of fabrics as the creator of Rainbow, which had a big success with designers such as Lancetti, Valentino, Krizia, Albini, Armani, Lagerfeld, Chanel, Lacroix, Donna Karan and Calvin Klein. During the 1970s and ’80s he and his wife Daniela Morera were frequent visitors on the New York scene, with Andy Wharol, the underground clubs, and the group of people who revolved around the emblematic Studio 54 discotheque and its owners. The jet set, and artists such as Haring and Schnabel, and his travels to Bali, Vietnam, India, and Burma were a source of constant inspiration for his creativity. At the end of the 1990s, he sold the company.
