Baron

Fabien Baron (1959) was a french graphic designer. He did the graphic restyling of Vogue Italy (1989), Interview, Harper’s Bazaar (1992) and laid out the dummy for D-La Repubblica delle Donne in 1996. After proving himself in the graphic studios of Paris, he chose to be in New York, where he moved in 1982, finding a job at G.Q. very quickly. He was part of the launch of New York Woman and was chief graphic designer at Barneys, the department store. He often worked in partnership with the photographer Steven Meisel. They are responsible for the page make-up and the images of Sex, the provocative book by Madonna.
After six issues, he abandons the post of editor-in-chief at Arena Homme Plus. For the forthcoming Autumn-Winter 2002 issue his place was taken by Ashley Heath, whose place had been taken by Baron and the art director Art Lloyd in 1998.
He works with Calvin Klein on the new fragrance CKbe, and with Hugo Boss and Issey Miyake. For Klein he produces a commercial with the collaboration of Wayne Maser.
