After studying first in Canada at the McGill University, then in the United States at the Harvard Business School, he moved to London. Here he worked as a consultant for large companies, he understood the weaknesses and transformed them into strengths, guiding them to success. However, he didn’t feel satisfied and after a sabbatical year and a trip to South Africa, he decided to follow his passion. He founded BOF in 2007, created as a personal blog in which he wrote about fashion in all its aspects. The turning point arrived in 2013 when large companies decided to invest in his project. In a short time, from a personal blog, BOF became an authoritative point of reference for workers in the sector and for fashion enthusiasts, and thanks to his contacts, Amed is often the first to give the most important news.

In 2015 he was appointed Honorary Professor of Fashion Business at the Glasgow Caledonian University. Two years later he was appointed by Queen Elizabeth II as a member of the Order of the British Empire while in 2018 he received an honorary doctorate from the Central Saint Martins College of Art. Imran Amed has also been part of international fashion juries, including LVMH Prize , the ANDAM Award and Who is the next.

Imran Amed, self-taught, without having studied fashion or journalism, is an authoritative voice in the fashion scene today.
