Ackermann

Heider (1970). A Colombian designer born in Santa Fe de BogotÄ and raised in Ethiopia, Chad, France and Algeria. He then moved to the Low Countries where he attended the Academie Royale of Antwerp in Belgium. While a student he worked with John Galliano but after three years he left the academy because in the meanwhile he had become an assistant for the men’s and women’s Collections of Wim Neels, a designer and his teacher. He later specialized in drapery. As a designer he worked for Mayerline, a Belgian prêt-à-porter company. Since 2002 he has designed his own women’s Collection, inspired by Africa’s ethnic influences and by a European metropolitan style.
