ZINTALA: THE JEWELLERY OF SILVANO LATTANZI
Zintala is a handmade shoe company founded by master shoemaker Silvano Lattanzi. Starting in 1995 in Sant’Elpidio a Mare, Lattanzi’s company draws on thirty years of tradition and experience in the art of shoemaking.
SILVANO LATTANZI: SHOEMAKER’S ORIGINS
The entrepreneur and shoemaker produced his first pair of shoes in 1971, which are now on display at the Zintala Museum of the History of Footwear. Subsequently, Lattanzi produced his first collection in 1974, inspired by products made in the workshops of Florentine craftsmen. But that’s not all: Lattanzi’s 1975 collection caused a sensation throughout Italy. Instead of the usual dark shades, Lattanzi interpreted the elegance of traditional shoes with brighter colours, such as yellow, red and blue. From that moment on, the road of Lattanzi and his Zintala was only upward.
THE RISE AND RECENT DAYS
The company has agents in the United States and Japan and also offers foreign customers a ‘made-to-measure’ service at home, where the shoe is made around the foot. To date, the brand has three brands: Silvano Lattanzi (one-off made-to-measure pieces), Gerardo Fossati (goodyear workmanship always in limited production) and Zintala (shoes with a more youthful style). It has a showroom in Milan in Via Montenapoleone and in Rome in Via Bocca di Leone.
