MING XI (PSEUDONYM OF XI MENG) IS A CHINESE MODEL BORN ON THE 8TH OF MARCH 1989.
Ming Xi’s career started in 2009 when she participated in the talent show “Go! Oriental Angels”. In the same year she participated in the 26 World Elite Model Competition. She earned the 3rd place and it acted as a springboard in the world of fashion. Thanks to the contract she signed with Elite Model Management, in 2010 Ming Xi walked the catwalk in Paris for the Givenchy spring collection. In the same year she appeared in the advertising campaign of the brand’s autumn collection, becoming the first Asian model to cover this role. Ming Xi managed to become popular in a short time, and she was included in the list “Models to watch” by the website models.com and by Vogue in “Face to Watch”.
After Givenchy, Ming Xi worked with many other brands including Christian Dior, Vivienne Westwood and John Galliano. In 2010 she appeared on the cover of the Chinese edition of Vogue. The fame of the model grew to such an extent that in 2010 she became the testimonial of Diane von Fürstenberg. In the meantime, in addition to working with Lane Crawford and Mango, she also appeared on the covers of Madame Figaro and Marie Claire.

In 2012, she was invited as a spokesperson at the Shanghai Fashion Week, while in 2013 she took part in the Met Gala in New York for the first time, wearing a Jason Wu dress. In the same year, she walked the Cannes red carpet. In November 2013, she participated in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in New York, becoming the third Chinese model to walk the catwalk for the brand, after Liu Wen and Sui He. In addition to the 2013 show, Ming Xi also walked the catwalk for the brand in 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018. The model’s name became more and more popular, to such an extent that in 2014 she won the model of the Year award at the Sohu Fashion Festival.
MING XI’S OTHER COLLABORATIONS
In 2015, she became the testimonial of the fragrance Flower by Kenzo. Moreover she participated in the second season of the reality show “Fall in love with supermodel”. In November of the same year, she participated in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show again, walking the catwalk in a light outfit with printed butterflies. In 2017, she participated in the advertising campaign of Daniel Wellington and L’Oréal xBalmain. The following year, she worked for Etro and Adidas in the collection in collaboration with Stella McCartney.
CAREER IN THE SHOW BUSINESS
In 2016, Ming Xi appeared on television again in the reality show “24 hours”. Moreover, on the 18th of March, she participated in the Shenzhen Fashion week. In the same year, she participated in the premiere of the movie “The Unknown Girl” during the Cannes Film festival. That was when she began her career as an actress, participating in the Franco-Chinese production of the film “The Warriors Gate”, written by Luc Besson and Robert Mark Kamen. In November she walked the catwalk at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show again.
Her career in the world of cinema did not end with “The Warriors Gate”. In fact, in 2018 she worked with Sylver Stallone and 50 Cent in the movie “Escape Plan 2 – Back to Hell”.
In 2018, Forbes China listed Ming Xi among the ten most influential models. The following year, she married Mario Ho, son of Stanley Ho. A few months later, she gave birth to their first child, Ronaldo Ho.
On the 11th of February 2021, Ming Xi attended the Spring Festival Gala organized by China Central Radio and Television.
