Tositti

Gianni Tositti (1934). Entrepreneur in the field of prêt-à-porter. At the age of 24, he entered the world of fashion, working as a representative for Krizia and traveling around Italy with his fashion samples. In 1962, he did the same work for the Missoni. In 1969, he founded, with Aldo Ferrante and Gigi Monti, FTM, inaugurating in the Via della Spiga in Milan a new method of marketing: a collective showroom for all the fashion designers in their “stable.” The following year, the three businessmen purchased Basile. In 1972 they hired Walter Albini to design five Collections and had runway presentations at the Circolo del Giardino in Milan. It was the first signal of what would soon be happening in Milan, with the decision by Krizia and Missoni to abandon the Sala Bianca in Florence and to have their presentations in Milan. He worked on the labels Genny and Complice at the beginning and on Callaghan, Issey Miyake, and Soprani. He was the first to import the Ralph Lauren label to Europe. He is a style consultant for the Turkish Beymen group.
