Sears Roebuck & Co

American mail-order group. It is a worldwide distribution giant. It was founded in 1893 by Richard Warren Sears and Alvah Curtis Roebuck. Their catalogs advertize work clothes, denim and fabrics sold by the meter, but also goods for farming: agricultural machinery, saddles, guitars, plus materials and plans to construct a house. Since 1990, the group has focused on womenswear.
