Rossi Lodomez, Vera

Vera Rossi Lodomez (1902-1988)  an Italian Journalist

An elegant and cultured journalist Vera Rossi Lodomez. Gifted with an authentically Tuscan spirit and great humour, and with a perfect knowledge of several languages, she played an important role alongside Giovanni Battista Giorgini, collaborating on the great fashion shows at Palazzo Pitti. A friend of the famous designer Gruau, she accompanied him to the United States to visit the fashion schools: an exceptional event at the time. She worked for Novità and other women’s magazines. She is remembered, under the name Vera, for the column Annabella in Cucina, the book of the same name (Rizzoli, 1955) and, above all, the first edition of Cucchiaio d’Argento (Domus, 1950) and Nuovissimo cucchiaio d’argento (1972), of which she was co-author. Her fashion Christmas parties (as well as those of Jole Veneziani) have left a memorable mark.
