Gilles Rosier

 A French fashion designer, Gilles Rosier born in 1963. After studying at the Chambre Syndicale de la Couture, he worked for Balmain, Dior and Guy Paulin. He first became Gaultier’s assistant, then Leonard’s artistic director. In 1992 he created the Gr816 brand, which disappeared shortly afterwards.

He continued to work as an external consultant for Repetto, the famous dance costume house. He started designing collections again in ’96 under his own name. He was very successful. He considers his fashion to be a “laboratory lived like a factory in motion”.

He replaced Kenzo Takada (at the end of his brilliant 30-year career), within LVMH. In October 2008, Antonio Marras replaced him as Artistic Director of Kenzo, also owned by LVMH.
