ASSOULIN, ROSIE

BRAND AND FASHION DESIGNER,   A

ROSIE ASSOULIN, TOES THE LINE IN BETWEEN THE ROMANTICALLY FANTASTICAL AND THE RELIABLY PRACTICAL.

Rosie Assoulin is a women’s designer, with her ready-to-wear collection based in New York City. She grew up in Brooklyn and immersed herself in the world of fashion from a very young age. She started her internship at the age of 14 under Roxanne Assoulin and worked there for four years,

Through various experiences, she sought to gain different perspectives. Not particularly fond of formal education, also due to her ADD, she preferred to drop out of the Fashion Institute of Technology. Consequently, moved on to intern with Oscar de la Renta. Later, she chose to work in the design studio of Lavin in Paris. In her forever diverse exploring nature, she opted to move out of the industry to experience event planning.

It wasn’t until 2013, that she gained the confidence to start designing on her own. She launched her first collection for Resort 2014. Her design aesthetic toes the line between the romantically fantastical and the reliably practical. Assoulin says she wants to give women clothes that express their complexity and individuality.

“I try to relate to it personally because if it’s not personal then why are you doing it? There’s no such thing as one woman,”
