Rena Lange

Rena Lange is a German haute couture and ready-to-wear brand. It was established in 1963 by Peter Gunthert (1936) from a traditional swimwear shop in Munich. Six years later, he married Renate, a fashion designer who began her career in Berlin before becoming an apprentice cutter in Frankfurt, and who became the brand’s stylist.

Today the Munich-based house has 120 employees, 18 boutiques worldwide and exports to 26 countries. For the spring-summer season, she presents sensual dresses and suits with clean cuts. Stretch-piqué, patterned bouclé, embroidered suede and silk georgette, processed with innovative techniques, are offered in an extraordinary mix, but it is definitely linen, with the nuances of fresh fruit, the most used material.

The collection is distinguished by the lightness of the fabrics and the wide range of colours: from white to sand to blossom, from fuchsia to black. Moreover, a severe suit is proposed with exclusive fabrics but also with witty details: the heart, the designer’s trademark, refreshes the pinstripe suit in a funny way. Their typical delicate floral designs have been reinterpreted with lace, embroidery and jacquard.
